Ghana, Zambia enhance technology alliance.

As their ties become stronger, the two countries are looking into collaborations in communication and technology.

Ghana and Zambia are boosting their relationship in technology, communication, and innovation as the two countries aim to boost relations.


Felix Mutati,, Minister of Technology and Science, and his Ghanaian counterpart, Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, met in Lusaka this week.


According to a statement from Zambia's ICT Ministry, "The engagement highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Zambia and Ghana, with a strong focus on technology, innovation, and private-sector-driven collaboration."


The meeting was part of the President of Ghana's preparations for his upcoming state visit, which follows a similar visit by Zambia's President to Ghana.


The Zambian ICT Minister stated that one of the most important outcomes of both countries' involvement has been a purposeful change from high-level conversations to practical, results-oriented collaboration, particularly in areas where technology can directly benefit citizens' lives.


He emphasised the importance of the private sector in this collaboration, stating that the Ghanaian delegation includes representatives from the technology sector operating in fields such as education, health, fintech, agriculture, and other innovation-driven industries.


Mutati emphasised the necessity of establishing genuine ties between these enterprises and their Zambian counterparts.


On behalf of Ghana, George expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded him and his delegation, describing Zambia as a powerful and important partner on the African continent.
