Ghana, like many African countries, is facing numerous societal challenges, but a new partnership between local company Remat Holdings and South African-based Africa-focused tech non-profit organisation, the Empire Partner Foundation (EPF), is set to change that after signing a Memorandum of Understanding last week aimed at addressing some of the West African country's most pressing challenges through technology and innovation.

Remat, headquartered in Accra, is a diverse company dedicated to ensuring Africa's long-term success by ethical, progressive, and innovative methods.

While the youth-led EPF, which has been in operation since 2016, collaborates with developers on scalable concepts to create innovative solutions leveraging technology to impact social change and increase sustainability.

According to the parties, this alliance is more than just a collaboration; it serves as a bridge between two countries with profound historical and cultural ties.

South Africa and Ghana have long been pillars of strength and endurance on the African continent. From their contributions in the struggle for independence to their leadership in pan-African unification, both countries have demonstrated that when Africa works together, it thrives, the two declared in a joint statement.

The statement went on to say: “With this partnership, we take a step further harnessing our collective skills, resources, and innovative spirit to address real issues affecting communities in Ghana. From digital transformation to youth empowerment, this collaboration is grounded in impact and shared purpose.”

EPF stated as follows: “We are deeply honored to be part of this journey with Remat Holdings. Together, we believe in building an Africa where technology uplifts lives, bridges divides, and brings lasting change. Here's to a future of innovation, collaboration, and hope.”

This comes as the Johannesburg-based EPF expands its activities into African countries in quest of new solutions to the continent's economic and social challenges.

EPF is establishing operations and forming alliances with similar tech hubs including as iHub, Impact Hub (Rwanda), Ghana Innovation Hub, Mt Kenya Hub, Co-creation Hub, and Sahara Ventures.

Meanwhile, EPF also launched the Trust Us initiative that identifies cracks, design effective tech solutions, and roll out ‘real fixes’ that work.

First, according to the Foundation, it initiates projects where technology can have the greatest impact.

It goes on to say then, it will manage them like “the future depends on it — because it does.”

It stated that the Trust Us program implements scalable, sustainable solutions that improve lives rather than simply ticking boxes.

“It’s not magic. It’s a method. And it’s why you can Trust Us… to deliver,” said the Foundation on its LinkedIn page.
